How it all works

Editing in a nutshell

Nifty Ink provides different levels of editing and writing based upon your project's needs. Amber Hsiao, owner and editor of Nifty Ink, will work with you to identify the best starting point.

To help you along, here's a brief primer on the levels of copyediting:

  • Light Editing. Trimming down wordiness and smoothing out the rough edges. Correcting grammar and mechanical style. Adding a punch of liveliness to your prose. Putting on that polish before print goes live.
  • Heavy Editing. Reorganizing and developing contents to more clearly articulate main points. Identifying holes in logic. Correcting grammar and mechanical style. Sculpting the work for the next round of revisions.
  • Proofreading. Uncovering typos, omissions, spelling, grammatical, and mechanical errors. Reading copy for consistency in usage, diction, and design. Eliminating those inelegant ‘widows’ and ‘orphans’ in layout. Perfecting the overall look of the document.

Copywriting. Dynamic content is key to capturing the public’s interest, especially for up-and-coming companies. Nifty Ink can keep that fresh content coming about your latest news and events through clear and concise copywriting through press releases, news coverage, and more.
